Having an online presence in this day and age is critical. Especially in the medical industry, as reports show that health topics continue to be one of the most frequently searched for subjects on the internet, with a reported 80% of all internet users (approximately 59% of the US adult population) searching online for health related information.1
According to a recently published survey from the Pew Internet Project, searching online for health information ranked third amongst online activities, behind emailing and using a search engine. The most frequently searched for topics include: specific diseases or medical problems, certain medical procedures or treatments, doctors or other health professionals, hospitals or other medical facilities, and health insurance (including private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid).2

Facebook recently announced that fan pages will soon receive an upgrade to include additional features and a new layout. This upgrade will go into effect for all Facebook fan pages by March 1, 2011. In the meantime, on your next visit to your page, you may be prompted to upgrade early.

Our parent company, The Cooper Companies, was recently awarded the Gold Level Heart Fit-Friendly Award from the American Heart Association for our Cooper Wellness program.
The Cooper Wellness program kicked off in early 2010 as a part of our global wellness initiative. The goal of this program is to promote healthy lifestyles among employees and their families in an effort to decrease the risk of disease and enhance their quality of life. The program provides participants with nutritional recipes and fitness challenges.
Accepting the award on behalf of all employees, Bob Weiss, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cooper Companies said, “Our Healthy Choices program has been a great way to demonstrate our commitment to our employees; that they are the ones who make us successful.” He added, “We are honored to receive the award as we have put a great deal of effort into launching a global wellness program. We look forward to continuing to partner with the American Heart Association for future heart walks and programs as we work towards progressing to the next level American Heart Association award.”
